DDSA Policies & Procedures

FACILITY RULES

The following rules are in place for the safety and benefit of all who patronize or visit Dream Detroit Skating Academy, Adams Butzel Recreation Center, and the Jack Adams Ice Arena.

All attendees, members and skaters are expected to know and observe these rules.

  1. When skaters arrive, they must sign in with the ice monitor’s desk before getting on the ice.

  2. Locker Room:

    1. The locker room is used by skaters of all ages, please be courteous and sensitive to your fellow skaters.

    2. Skaters should keep their belongings in the locker room. DDSA is not responsible for damaged or missing items.

  3. On-Ice Behaviors:

    1. Skaters may only be coached by DDSA coaching staff.

    2. No socializing with other skaters during sessions.

    3. Kicking or gouging the ice or walls is prohibited.

    4. No cell phones, earbuds or headphones allowed.

    5. Do not interrupt teaching staff during lessons.

    6. Parents may not coach from the barrier, bleachers, or on the ice.

    7. Skaters/Coaches must clear the ice when the Zamboni appears.

    8. Any injuries should be reported to the DDSA staff and the ice monitor and an accident report submitted.

  4. General:

    1. For your safety, wear skate guards off the ice.

    2. Any damage to DDSA equipment must be reported to the ice monitor or DDSA staff.

    3. Violent and aggressive behavior is prohibited.

    4. Controlled substances, such as alcohol and illegal drugs are prohibited.

    5. No animals are allowed in the building (Dept. of Health state law).
